Your Health Investment Is Worth It
Being healthy takes up time...but here's the alternative

In this weeks edition, I want to very simply highlight to you why investing time into your health is worth it.
Yes it does take up time within our already jam packed days… but here's what happens when you choose the alternative.
Morning: Set Your Foundation
The Investment: Wake up 45 minutes earlier for a gym session or morning walk
The Alternative: Roll out of bed lethargic, grab your phone, and let the chaos of notifications dictate your mental state before you've even brushed your teeth
Your morning sets the tone for everything that follows. Exercise floods your system with endorphins, sharpens your focus, and gives you a sense of accomplishment before most people have had their first coffee.
Midday: Reset and Recharge
The Investment: Take a 30-minute walk after lunch to digest, reset, and maybe catch up with a colleague
The Alternative: Remain chained to your desk, grinding through the afternoon in a sedentary state while your energy crashes and your creativity flatlines
That post-lunch walk isn't just good for your waistline, it's a mental reset button. Fresh air, natural light, and movement help you return to your afternoon tasks with renewed clarity. Skip it, and you'll find yourself fighting the 3 PM slump with another cup of coffee and diminishing returns.
Evening: Invest in Recovery
The Investment: Spend 20 minutes preparing a nutritious dinner and eating it without distractions off your phone and connecting with your family/friends.
The Alternative: Order takeout, eat it while scrolling through your phone, and wonder why you feel unsatisfied and sluggish
Mindful eating and proper nutrition fuel your body's recovery and prepare you for tomorrow's challenges. The convenience of processed food might save you 20 minutes, but it costs you energy, focus, and long-term health.
Weekend: Active Recovery
The Investment: Dedicate Saturday morning to a longer outdoor activity such as hiking, cycling, or playing a sport
The Alternative: Sleep in until noon, binge-watch shows, and start Monday feeling like you need a vacation from your weekend
Active weekends don't mean you can't relax. They mean you're relaxing in a way that actually restores your energy rather than depleting it further.
The Math That Matters
Let's be honest about the numbers. A healthy lifestyle might require 5-7 hours per week: morning workouts, walks, meal prep, and active recovery. That's less than 5% of your week.
But here's what you get in return:
Increased energy that makes your remaining 161 hours more productive
Better sleep that maximizes your recovery time
Improved focus that reduces the time needed to complete tasks
Enhanced mood that improves your relationships and decision-making
Greater resilience to stress and illness
The Compound Effect
The beautiful thing about health investments is that they compound. That morning workout doesn't just benefit your morning, it improves your entire day.
The energy you gain from proper nutrition doesn't just help you through dinner, it carries into tomorrow.
The stress relief from that lunchtime walk doesn't just reset your afternoon—it helps you sleep better that night.
Meanwhile, the alternative compounds too, but in the wrong direction. Skipped workouts lead to lower energy, which leads to poorer food choices, which leads to worse sleep, which leads to more skipped workouts. The deficit grows.
Your Weekly Challenge
This week, try one simple swap: instead of checking your phone first thing in the morning, spend those same 10 minutes doing light stretches or stepping outside for fresh air. Notice how it affects the rest of your day.
Remember, you're not too busy to be healthy. You're too busy not to be healthy. The time you invest in your well-being isn't time lost, it's time multiplied.
